July 2025 Mini Extended Family Reunion Park City, UT

We decided to use our TimeShare at Westgate in Park City this year.
We worked it out so we had two 8 person rooms to rent.
Because Shannon and Brian couldn't get time off work, we said we would bring the kids anyway. They had no plans for most of the summer so we hoped this would be a fun vacation for them. I think they had a good time!!
Scott and Jess & the boys arrived late our first night.
They were very happy to have their own private space. Everyone had their own bed and bedroom.
During the week, Westgate plans activities for guest. Some were free and some not. I went with M to the bath scrub making class.
M stepped up and offered to make breakfast the first morning and sliders for dinner that night.
The kids took turns with the sleeping arrangements. M took the pull out couch the first part of the week and then switched with B for the second half for the bedroom.
There is a pretty big outlet mall in Park City. Scott, Jess and the boys did some shopping.
On Tuesday everyone except me, went to the Utah Olympic Park. They have displays and also lots of rides/activities.
Here are some of the slides available to ride down on tubes during the summer. In the winter there are skiers going down snow.
Here is one of the slides.
Aw - so sweet.
M didn't weigh enough for the extreme zipline, but otherwise they both went on everything.
On Wednesday, we drove down the mountain for several different events. First we dropped the kids off at Corinne's so Fred and I drove on down to Sandy to have lunch with Craig and Lynette. After that, we drove back and met the kids along with Corinne & Ben to perform Baptisms for the Dead in the newly opened Syracuse Temple. Richard had been there with us, but had to leave before us to be ready for his shift at the temple. He works in the Clothing/Rental department in the Syracuse Temple.
After that appointment, we drove over to the Layton Temple and did baptisms all over again. After that,we went to a nearby park and had a bit of a picnic. Scott, Jess and the boys joined us. It was hot, but everyone put up with it.
Fred and I went on back to the room while Ben and Corinne took everyone for ice cream at Handel's. Our Colorado grandkids haven't been there before.
On Thursday, Scott and family got packed up to start the journey home. They hung around most of the day. Corinne's family drove up and all of us got to hang out a bit at the BBQ provided by Westgate. Corinne and I talked about meals while we were together. I told her that the only thing I wanted was Hawaiian Haystacks. She and Ben provided that meal and the preparation. It was yummy.
There was time spent in the Game Room at Westgate.
A lovely dinner time.
Not to be left out.
These pictures are out of order. This was during the BBQ and activities provided by Westgate.
Very interesting tidbit here, this is one of the coffee table books in each room. We found some Daly history in this book.
We have this Daly West Mine in our history.
Also a Daly Judge Mill. These were really exciting to find.
On Saturday night Ben came up with a funny idea and so B and Henry decided to go for it. The Cabriolet Ski Lift runs during the off season too. It's a fun activity. Well, Henry and B decided to take a "shower" in the cars. Shirts off, bathing cap on and scrub up. They were very entertaining for many fellow passengers.
I found more stuff to share about Park City.
Beautiful scene set up for pictures!
Here is a better perspective of the vastness of the slide.
A selfie on the cabriolet trying to show off some of the scenery.

M and Henry battling it out.
Friday we all headed for downtown for some tourist walkabouts. We got to jump on a free shuttle from the resort to downtown and back. We looked at shops, ate ice cream and took pictures of each other taking pictures.
We didn't really get a good picture of the kids, but they enjoyed it.

More game room time for the cousins.
Ping Pong
Lots of pool time. This time share has really been handy to have at our disposal. It works out just right for rotating family visits.
I suggested we bring Henry back for a few days. The kids really seem to get along really well.
The first day back we took the three grandkids to Elitch Park. Shannon has season passes so getting in the park was free! They rode the rides and Fred and I followed along. It was hot which makes it icky. The kids don't seem to mind.

The food court is a popular place.
The next day I took Henry to my hairdresser for a back to school haircut. It was Henry's first time getting a haircut in a salon and not at home.
A very busy and fun 13 days. I love meeting the family in Park City. I appreciate that we are all able to find things to do and spend time together in different ways. The temple visits were very special for Fred and I. We feel blessed that the temple is already a big part of the grandkids lives. It is very rewarding to watch as these cousins have developed relationships over the last couple of years. They don't see each other often and we have some pretty big age gaps.
But I loved watching them all.
