The luxurious guest room at the Drees Inn

This was a very cozy room.

Our Spa Experience

Shannon had a facial and I had a manicure and a pedicure at the Dolphin Court Salon & Day Spa. I had my nails done with gelac....should last two weeks. Sorry Melanie, but my argyle started chipping off just before I left to Las Vegas. Just my little toes.

Places we ate in Las Vegas

Priorities please!

Oh My Gosh!

Now I have a bigger mess than before. Less than half of the stuff is going back into my new room. That means I have to haul away something somewhere......while moving things back in my new room, I tripped over the mat at my sewing table and now my back kind of hurts. I just saw my chiropractor yesterday. I'm quitting for the day and making a run to the recycle on Dickey Road with all my cardboard. Next is sorting through old clothes for give away, then giving away unwanted toys that have been saved, then getting Scott's room cleared out so he won't know we've ever been there, and then I'll start in beautifying my new room. Wish me luck.
P.S. My camera seems to have survived it's fall.

Church in Vegas

Today I went to church with Shannon & Brian. My heart is full when I am able to see them in "their world". Shannon played the organ for church. I marvel how talented both she and Corinne are. Watching them put on their little organ shoes and truly play the organ the way it is supposed to be played. I'm a cheater on the organ. One of the items on my "bucket list" is to take organ lessons. I'm inspired and I think I'm making a phone call when I get home and finally just "do it". A sister in Shannon's ward said "Shannon looks just like you". It made my day. Now on to Brian's good cooking and dessert. Brownies frosted with peanut butter frosting. A new taste sensation.

I broke my camera

So I'm so excited about posting things that come to my mind. I saw the greatest quotes in a Reader's Digest at work today. I thought "Oh I'll take a picture of it and put it on my blog". So I grab my camera while holding a half of an apple and blop - on the kitchen floor. I'm gonna cry. This is the picture it took after I dropped it. Now there is a blacked out corner and the lens has a little bit of a spaz when I turn the camera on or off. Dang!

These are the books that I am reading currently. I switch back and forth. The one that inspires me the most is actually the Just 10 lbs. Not because I'm all excited that I've found the secret to weight loss, but it is addressing our emotional needs. It provides actual mental exercises and journaling to help people learn to love themselves first. It's very appropriate for where I'm at right now. The How to Date your Wife - well I haven't shown that one to Fred yet. It has some very practical and totally right on information in it. Nothing hard, just everyday things we can do. Same with the 43 Ways to make aGood Marriage Great. I'm not a heavy duty reader.

New idea

I have a new idea for another project to work on. I love reading magazines and I'm always ripping out articles. Most recently I enjoy the articles on exercise (at home, non sweaty kind). Also I am inspired by the articles that give simple ideas for boosting our mood. I'm going to start a notebook and put all these "healthy" articles in them so I can refer to them and try harder to put them into practice. This is the closest picture I have of me reading something....I really do like to read. Oh and by the way, this is my grandson Garrett I'm reading to. It's an old picture.

new sewing cabinet

Here is the sewing cabinet I ordered from Wal Mart online. I figured I spend money quite freely on clothes, so spending the $400 on this really should not be that big a deal. At least this is something I won't out grow in a few months or a year. I can keep it indefinitely and it will always fit!
