So I've been sick

I noticed a day or two after we returned from Disneyland, that my throat hurt a little.
Mostly during the night and in the morning.
Then it would feel okay during the day.
The next thing that showed up was goop in my eyes when I woke up.
Perfect timing for this to show up because I already had a doctor's appointment set up
on Wednesday. So the culprit was PINK EYE.
Never had it before.
I messed up on the eye drops because I thought she said one drop a day.
So on Friday when I was picking up other prescription refills, I checked with the pharmasist
who then checked it on line and said one drop every 4 hours.
So I got right on that. It was kind of too late because Saturday my eyeball actually
hurt to move side to side and I felt overall kind of sick.
I got to feeling so bad that we called the 24 hour nurse from our insurance company.
She said to give it 48 hours from the time I started the full dose.
I stayed home from church because I still felt puny.
By Monday I was doing good so I went to work.
I still had this nagging little sore throat. That once I paid attention to it, it hurt all day.
Worse at night and the morning. I kept waiting for it to get better.
By the following Monday, I woke up to goop in my eyes again and this sore throat.
Luckily again, I had my annual physical scheduled for Wednesday and decided I'd let
my doctor check me out then. On Wednesday morning I woke up
and my ear hurt so I didn't go to work..
A Perfect Storm. On the right day.
I had fluid in my right ear, eyes goopy and sore throat.
She named something that it was called, but basically I had some bacterial infection.
So antibiotics. BAM.
Stayed home all day Wednesday and Thursday morning. I would have stayed home all day Thursday, but two of my co-workers who cover the phones the last 1/2 of the day after I leave work,
had appointments. I knew they needed me to cover for them.
Thursday morning I slept until 9 am. Not straight through the night, of course.
I started in the bed, then around 2:30 am went to the recliner in the livingroom.
Then back to bed around 7:30 am.
I love that feeling when you know you are getting a luxury sleep in.
So I'm hopeful I am finally going to kick this annoying sore throat and be back to my regular self.

So in the middle of all this sickness, I did go to the Women's Expo here with my friend Jan.
I stopped at a bra booth. I learned a lot about bras from Macy's in Bremerton.
That was the first time I had ever been measured. For years I was buying 36A.
Always thought I was flat so couldn't possibly need a bigger cup.
So about 10 years ago the gal came up with 40C or 38D.
I was shocked and kind of proud of myself.
Anyway, I had this girl measure me. I'm at about the same weight as when I was measured years ago.
She said 36D. Hmmm. I was happy with that. Felt like an improvement.
She asked me to put these stickers on where my nipples were.
Then she said to put on one of her bras.
This is the before and after.
I kind of loved the improvement.
The bras are about $70 each. I never pay that much.
I decided to buy one and have a party so I could hopefully earn two items at 1/2 off.
Then I'll buy me more.
There was an artist at the Expo that makes these dimensional pieces from old books.
This was about 25"x25".
She can make any theme you want.
I was thinking of this for Jess & Scott's Disney Room they want to create.
Here are some pictures of my grandkids over the last couple of weeks.
Clara is on the move now.
Graham is following the example of his older brother and water/puddles now.
 Biking Buddies.
 They are just too cute!!

Disneyland 2020

Disneyland here we come.
Cheetos for snacking and a book for me.
We arrived earlier than we expected. That is always a positive thing!!
Scott and Jess arrived just a tad bit after us.
Our hotels were on the same street. So meeting up was easy.
We headed for Downtown Disney the first night.
We spent time looking in the stores and getting an idea about what we wanted to buy.
We ate at Jazz Kitchen.
Fred and I shared a chicken and shrimp basket.
That's not a bunch of ketchup. There is BBQ sauce, Cocktail sauce & ketchup.
We walked through the Lego store. Graham had a fun time with Grandpa at the window.
We started our first day at Disneyland.
Here we go!!!
Look how sweet this is. Fred didn't seem to have any problem kissing me whenever instructed.
I was a little surprised.
Scott and Jess treated us to the Character Breakfast.
The food was really really yummy.
Turns out that Graham liked the characters, but Evan was not having any of it.
I think the fact that Hook was the first character to visit our table might have contributed to
Evan's dislike of the characters. Too bad it wasn't Mickey or Minnie.
Maybe that would have gotten us off to a better start?

I was very happy that the boys had no problem having us in their space.
We don't see them often, but it felt like they know who we are.
This is such a sweet moment to be photographed.
I love watching Scott be a Dad.
He is nurturing and kind.
It's all about the Mickey Mouse ears!!
We took a little break on the train.
You know boys and their trains.
Here's the Casey Jr Train. I didn't go on this ride with the boys.
It was an all boy team for this.
We went to California Adventure on Thursday.
Evan was especially excited about meeting Lightening McQueen.
Good old Mator. Aren't we all so cute!
After many photo moments, it was time for snack and a rest.
On Friday we met up at Scott & Jess' hotel.
Here's Fred getting his camera all ready for the day.
We all went on Pixar Pal Around Carosel.

Friday was a big day for Scott to make his Droid.
Star Wars Land was pretty amazing.
We watched over the boys while Scott made his Droid and Jess filmed it.

This was the last picture of our trip in Star Wars Land.
I would have posted more pictures that were taken by the photographers at Disneyland,
but it's been super annoying that they have been hard to transfer to my email.
I'm sure there is an easier way, but I haven't figured it out.
Fred and I were so happy to be invited to come along.
The little boys were real troopers. Disneyland is not an easy experience for little ones.
Scott and Jess were very patient and mindful of what the boys needed.
We were more than happy to hang out in their hotel room Friday night so
Scott and Jess could go back and enjoy a date night at Disneyland.

Now we have been to Disneyland with each of our kid's families.
We want to go to Knott's Berry Farm on our next California trip.

Not much going on since Christmas

Life has been pretty quiet since the holidays.
Our ward split the first Sunday of January.
The neighborhoods that make up the new Sugar Plum ward is where my best friends live.
We gained about 70 new families. So I have people to meet and friends to make.
I was asked to lead the music in Sacrament meeting during January.
They finally called my neighbor Sharon to be the music chairman.
She will be working on callings. At least I am still choir pianist. I don't want to give that up.

I had an at home sleep study for my CPap business.
I was hoping that with my significant weight loss, I wouldn't need to continue on with the machine.
My numbers are so close to normal, that the PA said I can experiement with not using it.
I haven't started that yet.

Oh the grandest news of all is I've found a sleep rememedy.
Pistachios. NO kidding.
I eat a big handful of them and two stalks of celery before bed and by golly
I'M SLEEPING SO GOOD.

Fred and I have left the Sugar Plum Empty Nest FHE and gone back to the Treasure Valley FHE.
So far the meetings have been boring.
A beehive keeper and a senior missionary couple telling us how wonderful
it is to serve a senior mission.
It's not a hard sale. We plan to serve some type of mission.
I read a book on my phone while they talked. They weren't exactly riveting.

Fred and I finally went on the journey to Cedar City to go to the Temple.
Every time we go to any temple, I get home sick for the Seattle Temple.
It's probably because we went there for over 30 years and it's just what we are used to.
Everytime we attend the temple now, it just feels strange and not right.
I took my wedding ring into the jeweler to have the prongs fixed.
He recommended replacing the "head" including white gold prongs instead of gold.
He said it would be more sparkly. The head would last longer than new prongs.
The diamonds all set higher now and I believe it does look more sparkly.
We have our new refrigerator and it's keen.
We're very happy with it.
We finally decided to go back to glass glasses instead of acyrilic.
My neighbor Sharon told us what rinsing agent she uses in her dishwasher and sure enough,
when I tried it there was no more waterspots.
Tomorrow we head to Disneyland to meet up with Scott & Jess and the boys.
I'm so happy they invited us. I hope we all have a grand time!
