Disney's Diamond Celebration 60 years

Fred and I joined Corinne's family on their big trip to Disneyland for 5 days!
Each morning she dressed the boys in matching shirts (at least color).
The resort had a shuttle that ran every 20 minutes to Disneyland.
It was our mode of transportation and worked out really slick.
Richard and Henry on the Carousel.
Spencer and Garrett.
First afternoon was the parade. It felt good to sit down even though for this grandma it wasn't very comfortable. Hot too!
These pictures are not necessarily in date order. I at least grouped them so the boys had on the same color shirt. Hopefully it was at least the same day. This is the Grizzly Run in California Adventure. When Fred and I went on it Wednesday morning and I got soaked. My jean capris were wet until late afternoon. Damp pants were kind of miserable.
This is another day on the carousel. Henry, Spencer & Richard.
Spencer on the Radiator Springs Racers.
Spencer again!
Love this photo of Corinne. She loved it. The boys not so much at this moment, but they did go on Splash Mountain more than once.
California Adventure ~ Cars land
Here's another morning of bright colors and sad baby.
Spencer and Henry once again on the carousel.
This was the afternoon parade in California Adventure. The bench was GREAT!
Back to Disneyland - ToonTown.
Pretty cute!
Looks like more toontown???
Another super picture of Corinne's family.
Handsome boys!
I took this picture of Corinne. I think she is beautiful and keeps a peaceful look about her, even amid life's challenges.

Eeyore and family.
Pooh Bear & Family.
In California Adventure, Fred and I went to see Disney's Alladin - Musical Spectacular twice!
It fantastic ~
Tower of Terror which Fred and I didn't go on. No thank you.

This was the first morning again out of order. I have blended picture from all three cameras here.
This is our bus stop.
Oh yeah - pictures totally out of order.

This was waiting for Paint the Night Parade.
I have never been on the Mark Twain Riverboat so we went on it. Nothing exciting.
Been there Done That.
This was fun.
Ghirardelli Chrissy - Oh My it was HEAVENLY!
Had to get a snapshot of Fred by this old Rambler.
His Grandpa Howes bought a brand new 1964 Rambler so Fred has a soft spot for Ramblers.
Fred's folks gave us his Grandpa's Rambler when we got married.
Selfie. We didn't get many pictures of us and none of us with Corinne' family.
Picture taking is a lot of work. I didn't include any of the great pictures of the parades, but this is more a post about our family time.
Picture of the picture. Radiator Spring Racers. It was fun!
Splash Mountain - Ditto.
Little bit of swimming at the pool the last morning with Grandpa.
Lunch at Arbys before heading home. Henry was totally out of it. Poor Baby.
Meal Time.
This was a really enjoyable and good trip. Only three negatives:
1. The air conditioning on Corinne's van went out on the way to Disneyland in Las Vegas.
They did finally get it fixed after two trips to the fix it shop. We'll leave it at that.
2. It was hot and humid. It was hot. It was hot.
3. My feet were killing me. I mean sometimes I felt like I was going to die. Too much standing in line to wait for rides and for parades. Next trip we won't go from morning until night.
We are too old for this anymore.

The positives:
1.  It was really really fun and great to not be at work.
2. I didn't have to cook all week.
3. I think we did all the rides and entertainment we had planned on.
Favorite Rides:
1. Star Tours - went on that three times.
2. California Soarin - went on that two times.

Next California trip we want to go to Universal Studios and Knots Berry Farm.

Thank you Corinne for inviting us to come along.
Wonderful memories to be had from our California Adventure!

Park City

Back in May I attended a What Women Want convention in St. George.
The first booth I stopped at I bought a two night stay in the Westgate Resort in Park City for $99.
Here is our story.

We made all kinds of "plans" which included the outdoor rides at Park City Base.
When we parked the car and began walking to the rides, this is what the sky looked like.
Not a good sign.
The rides and zip line were closed down at this time due to rain and wind and threats of lightening.
We left and drove to the resort to ride the gondola.
When we purchased the tickets for the ride, the guy lists all the reasons the gondola would be shut down and no refunds on tickets. We head for the door. More rain.
This isn't happening.
Luckily, the gondola was still running. At least the tickets were good for unlimited rides.
We rode again after dinner.

Our room was on the top floor - Floor 9.
This was our view out of the bedroom window.

I had planned on cooking two dinners in our room and fixing lunch once.
Didn't happen. The kitchen was actually pretty abbreviated and we managed to not make it to the store for the additional items I planned the meals around.
We ate at this out door "restaurant" for lunch.
This was an open air gondola that was free.

The weather cleared so we headed back to Park City Base and waited in line for 1/2 an hour.
In line - isn't this the Piano Guy - you know the guy that plays the piano in the Piano Guys videos?
There was this coaster ride and a slide. We thought the slide looked hazardous, but while standing
in line we changed our mind and decided to go on both.
Well by the time we rode the coaster and I screamed and laughed the whole way down,
it got really cold outside and we decided to save the slide for the next trip.
Breakfast was provided Sunday morning and we ate lunch at one of the restaurants at the Resort called Drafts. Of course, all the restaurants are "award winning".
Fred had a huge 1/2 lb hamburger and I had fish tacos. The food was good.
I'm not very good at taking lots of pictures. I feel kind of silly. I need to get over that.

Sunday evening we drove to the Old Downtown Park City.
There was a street market that we walked through and then up and down Main St.
So many cute shops and fantastic looking restaurants.
Next trip! We stopped for ice cream at the Rocky Mountain Candy Shop.

During the day I kept hearing people say "Olympic Park". I was thinking the Olympics as in the mountains in Washington. So confusing. Then I understood.
We drove up the Utah Olympic Park where they held the Olympics.
We got there as they had just closed the gates for tourists.
We only got to take some pictures.

It just seems that executing our plans didn't seem to go like we planned.
Everything seemed to take longer or be more involved so we didn't get to do all that we wanted.
We plan to take more trips to Park City. We are definitely going back.

We got to stop and have lunch with my brother Craig and his wife Lynnette on the way home.
It is really nice to be able to visit with them.

Mixed up dinner

Fred and I have started to accept invitations that come in the mail for retirement seminars. So far we have accepted two because of the "deal" that comes with the seminar.
The first time we went to one, we got free tickets to Mary Poppins a musical at the Brigham Playhouse. Only had to sit through about an hour presentation.

The second invitation we accepted was for a free meal at one of the
really nice restaurants here in town.
This is where we went last night for dinner.
Our meals were really good.
I got two fish tacos and Fred got salmon.
Of course, I didn't take my camera. I need to keep it in my purse.
Getting pictures of our actual view and meals would be much better
than these that I found on line.
Now for the rest of the story.
When the invitation came in the mail, I wanted to go because of the free meal at a fancy restaurant the I figured we most likely would never choose to go to.
I left it up to Fred to call and make our "reservation" for the presentation & dinner.
The night we wanted was full, but they added last night as an additional evening.
So Fred had the date right. The company called yesterday to confirm our reservation.
Fred listened to the recording carefully.
He asked me if I knew where the restaurant was and I said yes.
I googled it for directions. We both relied on the other for information.
We didn't look at the invitation before we left.
We show up and give them our names. We aren't on their list, but they seat us and say it is okay.
We order and mention to the waitress again about the mix up at check in.
She said she wasn't aware of a presentation that night so she would check with her manager.
No presentation last night. They have a presentation reserved for the 27th.

We stayed and ate our meal.
Went home, listened to the message again.
"See you tonight at the Fish Rock Grille".
Oops.
This is where the presentation and FREE meal was last night.
