blogging format

I'm quite frustrated that I haven't been able to figure out how to make my posts look the way I want. When I visit other people's blogs, their text and pictures make sense. Mine are all whacky. The text wraps around and is in the wrong place. It makes me crazy. I will have to blog more often so I can get this crazy things figured out.

Weeding success

Some before and after pictures of the mess. I love BIG weeds. They are so easy to pull. I still have lots of work, but this is all I'm doing today. I'm a busy person. Scott made it home last night and we have lots to catch up on. I also need to go grocery shopping and buy real food now that he is home.

Chakra massage

I had my first Chakra massage a couple weeks ago. It was very interesting. There are seven "chakras" (energies, I guess I would say). Each one is identified by a color, a symbol and a word. The therapist laid out a card for each "chakra". She asked me to choose three that "spoke" to me. I choose expression, grounded, and wisdom. It was an hour swedish massage, which included hot stones on the seven points (mostly from abdomin and up and one on my forehead). When I was dressed, I was given some pretty tasty tea (I should have asked why) and then we sat down and she told me the results. She said my grounded (nurturing) chakra was a little sputtery, but then very warm! My wisdom HOT! My expression COLD! I knew that one was coming. Yes I know everyone else in the world knows I don't hold back and people know where I stand on everything, but I do stuff a lot of deep emotions and feelings that I don't know how or do not want to express out loud. Shocking huh? Well I asked the massage therapist how do I "fix" that expression chakra - she said that's for me to figure out.

So I can check off one more "procedure or healing method" on my to do list to get emotionally and physically more healthy. I am amazed at all the knowledge on this earth and how some "methods" work for some and not for others. I'm currently doing: counseling, hormone therapy, chiropractor, anti depressant drugs, regular massages, pedicures, manicures, facials, lunch dates with wonderful friends.....Any other suggestions?

Glimpses of gratitude

I am continually amazed at myself and how ungrateful I am most of the time. I'm so eager to complain and whine and be disappointed that I rarely look at my blessings. While Fred and I were driving in the car yesterday it was actually not very painful to talk about a couple minor actions I need from him. No big deal. Fred is open to it. What a blessing he is. Fred may have piles and keep too much junk, but this man works, provides, lets me do whatever I want, let's me spend spend spend, takes me out to eat/dinner whenever I say a peep, he is a wonderful father, he isn't demanding about what I cook, make for his lunch, how clean or not clean the house is, how dirty a toilet gets, he is constant and he is funny. We laugh a lot. He is also a master at catching moles - barehanded (with a shovel)....talk about patience! He sits there and waits for a rumple in the dirt.

My surprise date

Today Fred came home from working over time early. He asked if I was ready to go and to wear walking shoes. We jumped in his car and hit the road. He didn't say where we were going, but we were a little late. He had been planning this for a while. We drove and drove and as we got over the Narrows bridge and crossing over 6th street, I asked him if we were going to tour the new Cheney stadium. I guessed it right. We are so in tune with each other. It was a quick tour, but it was fun to be together. We checked out the suites and decided which one we would buy season tickets for. NOT. Stadium seats are just fine! We like to go on Friday night fireworks. We stopped at Wingers for lunch. First time eating there for Fred. Delicious hamburgers. We forgot to share....

The luxurious guest room at the Drees Inn

This was a very cozy room.

Our Spa Experience

Shannon had a facial and I had a manicure and a pedicure at the Dolphin Court Salon & Day Spa. I had my nails done with gelac....should last two weeks. Sorry Melanie, but my argyle started chipping off just before I left to Las Vegas. Just my little toes.
